General Information

The No. 562 Ives Caboose was offered by Lionel in the 1930 Ives Catalog. The No. 562 Caboose represents a true transition from Ives to Lionel and is comprised of components from both companies. Lionel was utilizing remaining parts from the Ives inventory after the takeover by Lionel and combining them with Lionel parts, as necessary, to produce complete cars for sale. The No. 562 Caboose utilized an Ives frame, couplers and wheels to be compatible with other freight cars in the Ives line. The body and handrails were components of the Lionel No. 807 Caboose. The caboose has a dark red painted body, peacock blue cupola with dark red ends, yellow windows, brass plates, and brass handrails. The car has a four-wheel frame painted black with hook and slot couplers.

There are no variations of the No. 562 Ives Caboose by Lionel.

Ives No. 70 Caboose

General Information

The No. 70 Ives Caboose was offered by Lionel in the 1930 Ives Catalog. The No. 70 Caboose represents a true transition from Ives to Lionel and is comprised of components from both companies. Lionel was utilizing remaining parts from the Ives inventory after the takeover by Lionel and combining them with Lionel parts, as necessary, to produce complete cars for sale. The No. 70 Caboose utilized an Ives frame, couplers, journals and trucks to be compatible with other freight cars in the Ives line. The body and handrails were components of the Lionel No. 807 Caboose. The caboose has a dark red painted body,

peacock blue cupola with dark red ends, yellow windows, brass plates, and brass handrails. The car has a black frame with four-wheel trucks and two Ives manual couplers.

There are no variations of the No. 70 Ives Caboose by Lionel.

The No. 121 Ives Caboose was offered by Lionel in the 1930 Ives Catalog. The No. 121 Caboose represents a true transition from Ives to Lionel and is comprised of components from both companies. Lionel was utilizing remaining parts from the Ives inventory after the takeover by Lionel and combining them with Lionel parts, as necessary, to produce complete cars for sale. The No. 121 Caboose utilized Ives couplers, journals and trucks to be compatible with other freight cars in the Ives line. The frame, body and handrails were components of the Lionel No. 817 Caboose. The caboose has a dark red painted body, painted roof and cupola, yellow windows, brass plates, and brass handrails. The car has a black frame with four-wheel trucks and two Ives manual couplers.

The only variation of the No. 121 Ives Caboose by Lionel relates to the color of the roof and cupola.
