Lionel No. 807 Cabooses
General Information
The Lionel No. 807 Cabooses were introduced in 1927 and were issued through 1942. The No. 807 Cabooses have a four-wheel frame with latch couplers. The No. 807 Cabooses measure 6 1/2-inches in length. The cabooses typically had contrasting colors for the body and roof. The frame was always black. Early cabooses have brass or aluminum plates to identify the number and “Lionel Lines”. The later cabooses have rubber stamped lettering.
Variations of the No. 807 Cabooses include different shades of red for the body; roof and cupola color; different railing material and color; different window color; copper, nickel, black or no journals; and identification plates in brass or aluminum or rubber stamping. Some of the early cars had a lubrication sticker on the underside. These cabooses were either issued with one or two couplers. Since couplers can be added or removed, this is not considered a variation.
