Lionel No. 651 Flat Cars
General Information
The Lionel No. 651 Flat Cars were introduced in 1935 and were issued through 1942. The No. 651 Flat Cars always had manual couplers. The No. 651 Flat Cars measure 6 1/2-inches in length. The flat car bodies were always painted a single color. The flat cars all have the number and “Made By / The Lionel Corporation / New York” rubber stamped on the underside. The flat cars had eight individual pieces of square lumber. The flat cars all have nickel trim and nickel stakes.

Variations of the No. 651 Flat Cars include different body color and nickel or black journals. Early flat cars have latch couplers. Late flat cars have late style manual box couplers.
