The crane cars had a crank wheel on the right side of the cab to control the movement of the hook and a crank wheel on the back of the cab to control the movement of the boom. The cab had to be rotated manually. The No. 2660 Crane Cars always had operating couplers.
The No. 2660 Crane Cars measure 10-inches in length (including the boom). The crane cars had contrasting colors for the cab and roof. The frames were always black. The crane cars were identified by either a plate or rubber stamped lettering on the rear of the cab.
Variations of the No. 2660 Crane Cars were limited to the color of the trim, color of the journals, and the type of couplers. Early crane cars had early style box couplers. Later crane cars had late style box couplers.
