General Information
The Lionel No. 1107 Donald Duck Handcar (referred to by Lionel as the Donald Duck Rail Car) was introduced in 1936 and was cataloged through 1937. The Donald Duck Handcar features Donald Duck and Pluto figures and Pluto’s Dog House. The handcars are powered by a mechanical or clockwork motor operated by a wind-up key. The handcars are constructed with a stamped steel frame and dog house painted various colors. The composition Donald Duck and Pluto figures are mounted on the frame. The motor is connected to the handcar handle with an eccentric rod that activates the Donald Duck figure. In addition, when in motion, Pluto’s head bobs and Donald Duck “quacks”. The motor has a lever that serves as a brake when engaged. The handcars have an identifying decal on one side of the dog house. The handcar measures 11-inches in overall length. The handcars were always offered for separate sale with a circle of “027” 2-Rail track.
Variations of the No. 1107 Donald Duck Handcars are limited to the color of the dog house and roof. The handcars were offered with white or orange dog houses and green or red roofs. There are no variations to the Donald Duck or Pluto figures.
