IVES No. 258 STEAMER AND TENDER

Lionel introduced the No. 258 Steam Locomotive in 1930.  It was only cataloged for one year, but was used in the following years in numerous special or promotional uncatalogued sets.  In 1931-32, Lionel also used the No. 258 locomotive as part of its Ives line of trains.  The Ives version had unique Ives number plates under the cab windows and an Ives pickup assembly nameplate on the bottom.  This particular Ives No. 258 is unique in that it has a black 1663T Tender with a crackle finish.
