Lionel No. 1811, 1812, 1813 Passenger Cars

General Information

The Lionel / Ives No. 1811 Pullman, No. 1812 Observation, and No. 1813 Baggage Passenger Cars were introduced in 1931 and were issued through 1937. The Nos. 1811, 1812 and 1813 Passenger Cars have a four-wheel frame and measure 6-inches in length. The passenger car bodies were lithographed with a painted roof and a black or red frame with lithographed details. All of the passenger cars were manufactured by Lionel. Passenger cars offered in 1931-1932 were included in Ives Mechanical Sets. Passenger cars offered in 1933 were included in Lionel-Ives Mechanical Sets. Passenger cars offered in 1934-1937 were included in Lionel Mechanical Sets. Passenger sets were issued with different combinations of cars including three Pullmans, two Pullmans and one Observation, and one each of a Pullman, Observation, and Baggage Car. The passenger cars all have hook and slot couplers.

Variations of the Nos. 1811, 1812, 1813 Passenger Cars include different lithographed body, frame and roof colors. Early passenger cars were lettered for the ”Ives R.R. Lines”. Later passenger cars were lettered for the “Lionel Lines”.
