Lionel No. 1694 Electric Locomotive


General Information

The No. 1694 Ives Electric Locomotive was offered by Lionel in the 1932 Ives Catalog. This 4-4-4 Electric Locomotive was loosely based on the New Haven Railroad box cab electric locomotives. The No. 1694 Locomotive was marked as “Ives Lines” and “1694” in red serif lettering and blue diamond on three brass plates on the sides of the body. This locomotive was never issued with Lionel markings.

The No. 1694 Electric Locomotive measures 12 1/4-inches in length. The locomotive has a light gray painted body and maroon painted roof and frame. The locomotive has two cast headlights, two brass pantographs and a brass whistle mounted on the roof. The frame has brass handrails and brass and nickel brake wheel stands. The two drive wheels are connected by a single side rod. The No. 1694 Locomotive has a manual reverse unit. The reverse is controlled by a lever that protrudes through the roof. The loco has two latch couplers.

There are no variations of the No. 1694 Electric Locomotive.
